Panorama of golden aspens in a Rocky Mountain valley in the fall
Details: Fall is an amazing (and amazingly brief) time of year in Colorado. The aspens turn bright gold and orange, but only for a couple brief weeks before the snows hit. This scene was captured the last week of September in a place known as “the Crags” in the Pike National Forest near Cripple Creek, Colorado. The Rocky Mountains are home to some brilliant blue skies, and these make the gold of the aspens really pop!
